Highlands Ranch Real Estate

From Experience

Years ago, I chose to live in Highlands Ranch and I have never looked back.  My family and I live on a cul-de-sac on the east side of Highlands Ranch. Our neighbors are awesome, and our neighborhood is a tight-nit community. During the summers we have block parties where almost the entire community joins in.  We play movies on the garage door, the family across the street has their fire pit going, and the doctor in the corner house brings out the fireworks for a wonderful summer experience. Memories like these are why I am so happy that I invested in Highlands Ranch real estate, and am proud to call the town my home.  My family and I love our life here in Highlands Ranch not just because of  the house we live in, but because of the community that we are a part of.

Overview of Highlands Ranch

Highlands Ranch is a large master planned community in northern Douglas County, and is well known for it’s top-notch schools and wonderful community. Highlands Ranch is south of Denver and  C-470, west of I25, and east of US 85 (Santa Fe). Its four modern recreation centers, highly rated schools, many natural areas and parks, and other abundant recreational opportunities, make it one of the most sought after residential communities in the south metro area. Highlands Ranch may eventually be incorporated as a city, but is currently considered a large subdivision within unincorporated Douglas County. Rapid development over the past 20 years has truly made investment in Highlands Ranch real estate a no-brainer.

Highlands Ranch Community

While the real estate is prime, what really makes Highlands Ranch one of the best places to live in the Denver-metro area is the feeling of community and civic comradery that is on full display in virtually every neighborhood. Aside from the great people, Highlands Ranch also features terrific shopping and restaurants, and the convenience of being just a stone’s throw away from downtown Denver, historic Red Rocks National Park, and of course the gorgeous ski towns of the Rocky Mountains. Highlands Ranch is a great place to raise a family, with a renowned school system and family friendly environment.

Real Estate in Highlands Ranch

The prices of homes in Highlands Ranch range from just under 200K to over 1 million.  The average home price in Highlands Ranch is $350,000.  Most of the homes were built in the late 1980′s to early 2000′s. The homes range from small suburban housing to large, multi-level exquisite houses.   There is still some new construction of homes and townhouses in Highlands Ranch but as a whole the subdivision is about 98% complete. Though some Highlands Ranch real estate is expensive, much of the housing is very affordable, especially considering the location and the intangible attributes of the community.

Right For You

Phrases like, “family friendly”, “comfortable community”, and “great people”, describe my home, Highlands Ranch. It is the ideal suburb, being far enough away from the busy city of Denver yet convenient enough to enjoy all that Colorado has to offer. Highlands Ranch is a top choice for families looking for good schools for their children as well as a safe environment where they can develop and flourish. Living in Highlands Ranch myself, and making an investment in Highlands Ranch real estate many years ago, I highly recommend the community to anyone moving to or within the Denver area.  I have found that with Highlands Ranch, you get so much more than just a house; you get a home.
